This is not actually a drawing of a fossil plant, but of a rock which has been altered by a mineral process. The branching features which look like foliage are actually patterns caused by manganese oxides- they can be found on rock surfaces and in cracks in rocks. The drawing is framed with the drawing being bevel mounted using pale ivory mount board.
