This is the first painting after producing the fossil paintings for my summer 2007 show- it felt really good to produce an abstract after painting a collection of carefully observed studies. This piece is, as usual, inspired by a Venetian crumbling wall. Whilst producing this piece I decided to produce a series of red and white paintings as I simply love the way the two colours react to one another.
